About the Author
Vinay Trivedi's background is in technology, investing and product management. He has experience in venture, growth, and private equity from The Blackstone Group and Romulus Capital, where he focused on technology, consumer, and education investments. His product experience includes Citymapper (Benchmark & Index backed smart city company) and Locu (General Catalyst-backed data startup). Previously, he served as a founding team member on a TED fellow-led education technology challenge called ‘Future of the Book’ and founded a national non-profit organization called SeniorLink, a youth volunteer agency for teaching seniors about computers and the Internet.
Passionate about technology policy and economic development, Vinay serves as an ambassador to the Startup in Residence Program hosted by the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Civic Innovation. He also works closely with The Blackstone Charitable Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Initiative to help strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystems around the US.
Vinay earned the Congressional Award Gold Medal in Washington, DC for his work in technology education and community service. He received his A.B. (Honors) in Computer Science from Harvard University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and as a John Harvard Scholar, Weissman Scholar, and Detur Book Prize Winner. He is an active angel investor and has been a proud resident of six cities and three countries (New York, Boston, San Francisco, Philadelphia, London, and Mumbai).
